Soon, said Hassan Nasrallah. Eventually, it will be destroyed. That was the general belief, repeated so often it stopped sounding like an opinion and started sounding like a fact. As a child, I asked: why is Israel doing this to us? Because the Jews are the Jews. That was the whole answer. Nobody needed a better one. In my mid-twenties, after my divorce, I decided to raise my son in Europe. I moved to France. I ended up in Strasbourg, surrounded by Jews. On the first day, I had a panic attack. That stopped me. It forced a question I had never asked myself: why? Why this reaction, to nothing, to no one, to strangers on a street? Because I was sharing space with the enemy. Why is the Jew the enemy? I had never met one. So I started thinking. Reading. Zooming out. And I realized: everything I knew about the Jew was not true. #israel #lebanon #zionism #EndJewHatred
