RT @benny0692698414 (benny 🇩🇰 🇫🇴 🇬🇱 🇪🇺 🇺🇦): UKRAINE PAID FOR THE PATRIOT MISSILES. SO WHY ARE DELIVERIES BEING DELAYED? President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused the Trump administration of delaying deliveries of Patriot air-defence missiles that Ukraine has already paid for through NATO’s PURL programme. “We paid for the weapons,” Zelenskyy told Bloomberg. According to Zelenskyy, the US is currently delivering around 12 Patriot missiles to Ukraine per month — roughly a quarter of the monthly delivery rate he says Ukraine received under President Joe Biden, when the weapons were supplied without payment. The US has reportedly approved only some of the requested deliveries. Ukraine is paying for weapons it urgently needs to defend its cities, infrastructure and civilians from Russian missile attacks. If these claims are accurate, the delays raise serious questions about Washington’s reliability as an ally and the effectiveness of NATO’s efforts to support Ukraine. Trump says he wants peace. But peace cannot be secured by leaving Ukraine more vulnerable to Russian attacks. When Ukraine has paid for the weapons, it should not have to fight delays as well as Russian missiles. Europe must be prepared to strengthen its own defence capabilities and ensure that Ukraine is not left exposed by uncertainty in Washington. #Ukraine #Trump #Patriot #NATO #Russia #EuropeanSecurity
